Rigidly designed agitator shafts are straight to less than .2 mm total runout per meter of shaft length, resulting in steady operation. Agitator shafts are machined from carbon steel or 304 or 316 stainless steel. To resists torsional vibrations stepped or tapered shafts can also be provided.
